Summer Guo (she/her)
Clinical Psychologist
We are excited to be welcoming Summer back to the Nourish Nurture Thrive team.
Summer is an experienced clinical psychologist with Master Degrees in both Health Psychology and Clinical Psychology. She has experience working with young people and adults across a range of settings, including public health and community youth mental health services.
Summer values collaboration and empowerment in her practice, and respects diversity, which she views as fundamental for creating a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. Through an empathetic and non-judgmental lens, Summer seeks to develop a shared understanding of a person’s difficulties and relevant past experiences, with an emphasis on appreciating individual belief systems, strengths, and values, in order to facilitate healing.
When it comes to disordered eating and body image concerns, Summer perceives health from a holistic standpoint. Her practice is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Enhanced (CBT-E) and Family-Based Treatment, but can also draw on a range of evidence-based techniques to tailor to individual needs. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and schema-informed CBT approaches.
Summer is passionate about working alongside individuals and their loved ones to foster recovery, she finds this process both humbling and rewarding.
