Jessica Lockhart (she/her)
Provisional Psychologist
Jessica (Jess) is a provisional psychologist in her final year of study of a Master of Psychology (clinical). Jess has experience working with people in a wide range of settings, including many years as a youth worker and a calisthenics coach.
Jess believes that warmth, trust and a little bit of humour, are vital in creating a safe space for people to share their journey in therapy. Jess is passionate about helping all people make peace with their body, and to open up space for them to discover what they truly love spending their time on. Her many years coaching dance and working with teenagers has given Jess an insight into the struggles young people can have with their bodies, and the way that society can inflame and perpetuate these difficulties. Alongside her therapeutic work with individuals, Jess is committed to advocating for change to make a fairer society for all.
Jess’s commitment to social justice includes acceptance of all gender and sexual identities, as well as religious and spiritual beliefs. Jess draws upon a range of evidenced based therapeutic techniques to meet the needs of clients, and believes an individualised approach, that recognises the unique person in the room, is the best way to make progress towards therapeutic goals. She genuinely loves meeting new people, and considers it the greatest privilege to be trusted with clients stories, their fears and struggles, and their hopes and dreams.”
