Danielle Serafini (she/her)
Accredited Practising Dietitian
Danielle is an experienced Accredited Practising Dietitan who works from a Health At Every Size (HAES ® ) framework. Using a non-diet approach, Danielle aims to guide her patients towards reconnecting with themselves through body awareness, trust and self-compassion, rather than weight centric goals via vicious diet cycles.
Danielle’s approach helps people to reject the notion of diet culture, steer away from food rules and move towards a more intuitive and individualised way of eating.
Danielle understands that every person has their own individual eating history and body story, which makes each person unique and human. She provides a compassionate and gentle approach to all clients she works with and approaches her work through a lens of kindness and curiosity. Danielle prioritises safety within her consultations, which helps to foster a deep connection through compassion, validation and acceptance of each unique experience.
Danielle draws upon her professional experience supporting those with eating disorders, in addition to her own lived experience. Danielle has previously been involved with Eating Disorders Victoria in the Peer Mentoring Program and contributed to the Severe & Enduring Eating Disorder Program.
In addition to helping those with eating disorders & disordered eating, Danielle is passionate about working alongside young children, their family and carers, in helping with various feeding challenges.
In particular, she has a special interest in embracing and supporting neurodiverse patients. She provides neuro-affirming care - aiming to understand unique experiences and how to best support individuals and their families. Her intention is to create connection through a trauma informed lens, facilitate safety in order to create attuned and responsive opportunities for children to engage with new foods or eating environments.
