Ingrid Currington (she/her)

Accredited Practising Dietitian

Ingrid is an Accredited Practising Dietitian with more than 15 years of clinical experience working with and supporting clients with a broad range of health issues. She is dedicated to helping her clients develop a positive relationship to food, eating and their bodies using a non-diet, HAES-informed approach.

Ingrid strives to provide relationship-centred care, whereby the development of a safe and connected therapeutic relationship is given the highest priority. She understands that empathetic listening and validating the experiences of her clients goes a long way to building trust and provides a strong foundation for recovery.

In addition to helping those with eating disorders and disordered eating, Ingrid has a particular interest in supporting neurodiverse clients, and those with chronic illnesses and pain conditions.

Ingrid also holds a senior position at tertiary hospital setting in Melbourne, where she specialises in the nutritional care of hospitalised patients with gynaecological cancer. She has expertise in the assessment and diagnosis of malnutrition, and nutritional rehabilitation strategies to improve and restore a normal nutritional status. She also works in the Persistent Pelvic Pain Clinic where she has extensive experience in assisting clients with pelvic pain and other chronic pain conditions (including endometriosis, disorders of gut-brain interaction, migraine, and fibromyalgia) using a weight-neutral approach that focuses on the principles of intuitive eating.

Ingrid has additional training in the dietetic care of clients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s and Colitis Australia), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (Monash University), and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID for Dietitians: a Responsive Feeding Therapy approach, EDRDPro).”
