The Group
Our Nourishing Carers program welcomes parents and carers who are supporting loved ones with an eating disorder. The group aims to provide expert information on a range of relevant topics, including eating disorders and the brain, managing difficult emotions, and other practical strategies to empower carers to assist recovery.
The group also offers families an opportunity to connect with those facing similar challenges, providing a heartening space to share experiences and offer encouragement to each other. Nourishing Carers is facilitated by Nourish. Nurture. Thrive. Clinical Psychologists Ainsley Hudgson and Claire Finkelstein.
Dates and Costs
Nourishing Carers runs one Wednesday evening per month, for six months. Sessions are 90 minutes (30 minute presentation followed by 60 minutes for families to connect in a supportive space).
The program fee for the Nourishing Carers includes 6 education sessions, an information pack, and nibbles on the night. Individuals referred by their GP may be eligible for a Medicare group program rebate.

Cost:
$390 per person
(Individual’s referred by their GP to a ‘group therapy program’ may be able to access a rebate for the program)
In order for individuals eligible for Medicare to receive rebates, full participation in the group program is required by all group members. Therefore, the program is charged for the complete program package. A payment plan is available. Please contact us for more information.
