Jess Ryan is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, young people and families. Jess was previously employed with a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), working closely with young people and families with complex mental health concerns. During this time Jess also worked within a specialist eating disorder team developing close working relationships with local paediatricians and dieticians.
Jess’s style is warm and caring, balanced with humour, honesty and directness. She believes these qualities are vital in creating a safe environment where a strong therapeutic relationship can be developed. Jess is deeply committed to learning about the unique context and strengths of each of her clients. She aims to foster a strong sense of self-compassion and hope, to support clients in making changes and fulfilling their potential.
Jess has completed additional postgraduate training at The Bouverie Centre (Victoria’s Family Institution) specialising in family therapy. Jess emphasises the importance of family in understanding individual relational patterns. She takes a family inclusive approach to her work, believing that directly engaging families is beneficial in the recovery process, fostering greater understanding for those involved.
