Lauren is a registered Psychologist with a completed Masters (Clinical) and PhD in Psychology.
Lauren currently works as a Psychologist in both private practice, and at the Royal Children’s Hospital Children’s Cancer Centre. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a range of presentations, including eating and body image disturbance (bulimia, binge eating, restrictive eating, avoidant/fussy eating); anxiety (phobias, social anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder); low mood/depression; and low confidence and self-esteem.
Lauren also has experience working with individuals with a chronic illness, as well as experience facilitating groups targeting symptoms of anxiety, low mood and poor self esteem.
Lauren completed her PhD in the area of body image amongst adolescent girls residing in Australia and Fiji. She has extensive research experience, with a number of first author publications and has presented at both national and international conferences.
Lauren likes to first build a strong therapeutic connection with young people and strives to make sessions relaxed, open, engaging and interactive. Therapeutic strategies are developed collaboratively in line with the client’s goals to ensure the treatment plan is feasible and achievable for each individual.
