Ainsley Hudgson is a Clinical Psychologist who has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and families across a wide range of settings. Ainsley has spent six years working in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health setting, working closely with young people with acute psychiatric concerns and complex issues.
In addition, Ainsley has previously delivered group treatment programs in a private psychiatric treatment facility and worked closely with children and adolescents in community based services, including Headspace, drug and alcohol services and private practice.
Ainsley believes in bringing honesty, openness and transparency to her work as a psychologist and finds that these factors are crucial in establishing trust between two people. Ainsley considers the development of a strong therapeutic alliance to be the most important part of therapy, and therefore gives this process due attention in the first few sessions. Ainsley also likes to reflect and draw upon the therapeutic relationship throughout the course of therapy, as a way to increase understanding and insight. Ainsley is committed to being genuine with her clients and seeing each person as a unique individual with their own specific set of strengths and capabilities. Ainsley attempts to foster a strong sense of hope for each person to fulfil their potential, whatever this may mean to them individually.
Over the years to come, Ainsley hopes to see significant changes in the way our culture portrays ‘desired bodies’ and how we view beauty. Ainsley finds working with individuals experiencing these difficulties extremely rewarding, and truly believes that there is a pathway to recovery for everyone.
